Machine safety and press retrofits—ISO/IEC, audit-ready documentation for UAE/GCC clients

About me

Badges: CMSE® (re-cert. 2024) · Master Electrician ·
UAE/GCC-ready: ISO/IEC evidence, OSHAD alignment on request, MoIAT (ECAS/EQM) awareness

I deliver pragmatic, audit-ready machine-safety solutions from risk assessment through to validation & acceptance – hands-on, reliable, and internationally compatible (EN/DE).

What I actually do

  • Press retrofits – safety control systems, operating concepts, safeguarding, validation & acceptance
  • Safety & safeguarding inspections – initial and periodic, report + label (EN/DE)
  • BWS (AOPD) inspections – light curtains/multi-beam, following systems (PSENvip/AKAS), guard doors/interlocks
  • Risk assessments & documentation – practical measures, PL/SIL evidence, ISO 13855 safety distances
  • Safety consulting (EN/DE) – concepts, export crosswalks, training, document reviews

Experience & focus

  • 20+ years in presses, robotics/AGV and automation
  • Operator-friendly & reliable solutions that minimise downtime
  • Clear diagnostics, coherent release logic, and audit-ready documentation

Standards I work to

ISO 13849-1 · IEC 62061 · ISO 13855/13857 · IEC 61496 · IEC 60204-1 · ISO 16092 (presses) · EN 12622 (press brakes) · ISO 10218 / ISO/TS 15066 (robots) · ISO 3691-4 (AGV/FTS)
Reports can be referenced to OSHAD (Abu Dhabi) on request.

Where I work

Primarily DACH, available internationally (documents in EN/DE). I regularly support projects in the UAE/GCC with ISO/IEC-based evidence and can align reports to OSHAD where required. For product conformity topics I’m MoIAT-aware (e.g., ECAS/EQM) and advise on GSO/G-Mark applicability when relevant.

Note on scope: Risk assessments (GBU) are provided under German law. Internationally I supply technical evidence (PL/SIL, ISO safety distances, validation) and cooperate with local partners where needed.

How I work

  1. Short call – scope, goals, constraints
  2. Document & photo review – cabinet, operator panel, safeguarding; make/model/year
  3. On-site or remote – measurements, functional tests, concept decisions
  4. Action plan – priorities, owners, timelines
  5. Validation & acceptance – protocols, labels, operator/maintenance briefing
